The first Flash Choir of the Federation of Greek Orthodox Church Musicians, Chicago Metropolis, was held at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago on July 17, 2016. Nick Paloumpis, of Holy Apostles GOC in Westchester IL, mentored a teenaged George Panagopoulos. 45 Choir Members from IL, MN, MO, & IN gathered to kick-off the effort. And what a great ministry program this has become over the years!

Our Strategy for Success
01
Education
Understanding your needs and seeking education for these is the first step to success. We strive to provide resources for lifetime learning.
02
Training
Onsite training is provided through conferences, Church Music Institutes [CMIs], Flash Choirs, and more. Online training is also available – peruse the Resourse section.
03
Fellowship
Our Metropolis singers enjoy fellowship excursions planned by the Federation, visiting other parish choirs, and of course attending the annual conferences and other events.
04
Feedback
Two-way communication is extremely important. Your Federation wants to hear from any and all church musicians to help us understand both your needs and also your successes that we can share throughout the Chicago Metropolis.
